Hongkong International Terminals (HIT) is a member of HPH Trust, the first Singapore listed container port business in world. HIT is also a part of Hutchison Port Holding Limited's (HPH) global network of port and logistics operations, and continues to have access to services and resources enjoyed by companies within the HPH Group.
HIT is one of several key container port operations in Hong Kong. HIT is located at the Kwai Tsing container port area of Hong Kong that is one of the world’s busiest container ports. HIT operates twelve berths in Terminals 4, 6, 7 and 9 and two by setting up a joint venture with COSCO Pacific Limited in Terminal 8. HIT and COSCO-HIT handle most of of Kwai Tsing's container port traffic, over 50 per cent.

nGen System
Next generation terminal management system (nGen) is a self-developed system by HIT. It shows all real-time situation of the terminal.

In the brief introduction, we learnt a lot of useful basic information of HIT and Kwai Tsing container port, such as location, facility, etc…
During the Q&A session, we have obtained many insiders’ information of HIT, for example, contingency plan under extreme weather, Hong Kong port’s actual competitiveness.
In the control center, we learnt how nGen to perform in real-time situation, how to perform it cargo allocation planning and how to optimize the utility of container yard.
During the shuttle travel, we had a valuable opportunity to sight-see the real container port, observe that operation process.
